Auto Enrolment for GT Access

Background

GT Access are a leading independent access company based in the UK. They provide access platforms and equipment for hire and purchase, as well as training for industry professionals. With five depots across the UK, they are one of the nation’s biggest independent access companies.

GT Access Director, Jo Till, has 15 years of experience in the industry, having worked at every level of the sector. With the company’s pensions auto enrolment starting dates approaching, she wanted a fast, simple way to meet GT Access duties to their employees.

Key challenges

With 80 employees, based in several different UK locations, GT Access was a typical medium sized business simply looking for a way to ensure new government legislation affected their operations as little as possible while ensuring they were fully compliant while giving employees a great pension scheme to be part of.

GT Access’s main goals were to ensure the auto enrolment deadline was met with minimal disruption to operations. They wanted a financial management company to come in, take the reins and deliver the appropriate solution and were happy to have minimal input. They were eager to ensure each employee understood the changes to their pensions and were able to have all questions answered.

Solution

Our financial advisors had to quickly learn about the company; specifically, its payroll and workforce. We researched the market to find the best auto enrolment compliant pension scheme for them based on their needs as a company.

GT Access wanted, and the government legislation demands, that all employees affected by auto enrolment have the new scheme properly communicated to them. This includes explaining the various options available, such as different contribution plans and how to opt out altogether.

To meet this need, our advisors went out to GT Access to meet employees, explain the new scheme and field questions. After enrolment, we set up an on-going arrangement with GT Access where any employee can call gpfm to get advice and explanation on any part of the company’s workplace pension scheme.
