Dave: An Early Retirement
Dave is a Managing Partner of a firm of Chartered Accountants. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and owns a home.
He came to gpfm seeking to plan his financial future and discuss tax-effective saving solutions for his retirement. Dave had worked with Gerald Pepper, founder of gpfm for several years.
Dave’s objectives were similar to those of thousands across the country: to make the most of his pension pot, enabling him to retire at the respectable age of 63.
In order to allow Dave to retire early, he worked primarily with Scott Atkinson at gpfm to assess his taxes, his assets and his existing pension strategy.
One of Dave’s criteria for the financial plan that gpfm would put together was that any financial risks had to be low. In other words, only a limited degree of risk was acceptable in maximising the pension pot to enable early retirement.
gpfm were able to come up with a pension solution that would enable Dave to retire at his agreed age of 63, but as well as this, they were also able to secure Dave the funds from his pension pot to purchase a holiday home that all his family are able to utilise.
A quote from the client:
“In the last few years, gpfm, and especially Scott, have taken me on a journey – recovering the pot and more – with sensible and regular discussions and decisions. The whole gpfm team have been very helpful and regular discussions have helped to keep the plan on track. I can recommend gpfm very, very highly.”
