The client Richard had sold their business and wanted to invest the money from the sale in order to provide a future income.
Key Challenges and solution
Richard worked with Simon Frost, director of gpfm and Chartered Financial Planner to come up with the best solution for the client.
Simon suggested a low-risk investment strategy which would result in a secure source of income in the future.
There were several reasons the client chose to work with gpfm. Having had experience with other advisers who suggested risky and eccentric options, they knew this was not what they were looking for. They also did not want to go to a bank, most of which they found would only recommend either their own products or derivatives-based solutions. ‘I felt the banks had their own self-interest at heart,’ said the client. ‘Often people get sucked in by the brand and that’s not what I wanted.’
They had two separate recommendations to use gpfm from local professionals and gpfm’s location in Hertfordshire also appealed to the client. gpfm’s company structure which was based around the expertise of more than one qualified adviser was also appealing.
