Hertfordshire Easter Events for the Family

Spring is sprung and Easter is just around the corner! School holidays are well underway, and Hertfordshire has several Easter-themed events to keep both kids and parents happy. We have rounded up some of the best below. Happy Easter! 


Willows Activity Farm’s Easter Eggstravaganza 

This will run until 22nd April and includes an egg hunt, Easter arts and crafts, brand new Peter Rabbit and Friends shows, Tristan the Runaway Tractor and lots more. There will also be Sublime Science shows running throughout the day, with all shows and activities included in the ticket price. Save on ticket prices by booking in advance here* otherwise tickets on the door are as follows: child is £23, adult is £22, and senior is £21. Tickets for disabled visitors are £13.

Burston’s Easter Bunny Trail 

Burston Garden are offering an Easter-themed afternoon tea for kids plus a traditional cream tea for the adults on the 12th, 15th and 17th April, which you can book here*. This is in addition to their free Easter Bunny Trail, which you can take part in every Sunday until Monday 22nd (although they are closed on Easter Sunday) and children’s craft activities, just £4 per child, also available to book online* on selected dates.

Ashridge Estate Early Bird Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt 

One of Hertfordshire’s most popular Easter events, the Ashridge Estate Easter Egg Hunt is now offering discounted early bird tickets for those who come between Monday 15th to Thursday 18th April. Beat the crowds, complete the trail and get a Cadbury chocolate prize at the end. Entry costs £3 per child and you can find out more about the event here*.

Knebworth Easter Trail 

Famous family destination, Knebworth is fun any time of year – however, if you wish to pay a visit over the break, there are Easter events taking place on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th April 2019 from 11am-5pm with the last trail sheet sold at 3 pm. An Easter surprise will be waiting for children at the end of a trail that will take them around the grounds. Trail sheets will be available from the gift shop for £1 each, in addition to normal grounds admission charges. Click here to book your tickets, or for more information*.

Harpenden Easter Egg Hunt 

This year, the Harpenden Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Friday 19th April 2019, 1pm-4pm at Harpenden Town Football Club (behind the skate park) in Rothamsted Park for the very first time. Two events will take place, the first will be an Egg Hunt for younger children up to six or seven years old and the second, an Easter Challenge for kids between seven and eleven years old. Tickets must be purchased in advance online*. There is no parking at the football club so anyone wanting to attend will need to park in the town centre and walk.
