Looking to the year ahead at gpfm

We enter the New Year with change in the air. With the UK’s vaccination scheme well underway and Biden’s presidency heralding a new era in American political and social life, we’re optimistic that 2021 will offer renewed stability.

With this in mind, we’d like to share some thoughts from our team – what they are looking forward to in the New Year, their resolutions, and their ambitions for 2021.

Nathan Simmons is one of our Paraplanners, working alongside the Financial Planners and the administration support team. ‘I’m looking forward to improving upon our already fantastic remote working ethic with hopefully quicker turn arounds,’ he says. Nathan is also looking ahead the spring, when he’s hoping to move to a new house and get married – ‘Fingers crossed this can go ahead this year! Is May too early?’

Nathan’s message to our clients is one of thanks. ‘Whilst last year was a difficult one for everyone and markets were unpredictable, thank you for riding out this uncertainty and for the positive feedback. The start of 2021 has been challenging but I remain optimistic that there is light at the end of this tunnel, and we will begin to see markets settle down with less volatility.’

For Financial Planner Emma Saunders, it’s the prospect of seeing her clients again that brings excitement in the new year. ‘I miss them!’ she says. ‘Stay safe and remain patient…we will get out and about again soon!’ She’s busy in the new year, using lockdown to pass two exams and build her own house. ‘All that on top of home schooling!’

Director Simon Frost is equally looking forward to the return to the office and to resume face to face meetings with clients again. ‘Hopefully we will see some better investment performance with less volatility once the vaccine programme is well under way,’ he says.

Finally, Valerie Stock, Operations Manager at gpfm offers some practical advice for 2021: ‘Make sure you are receiving the best financial advice, so that you are free to make the most of every day.’

We wish you all much prosperity and positivity in the year ahead. If you have any questions or would like to talk to one of our financial planners, please don’t hesitate to get in touch over email at enquiries@gpfm.co.uk or call 01992500261.
